Hollywood liberals sucking the life out of women..........

I have put a bunch of classic songs on my playlist and some dedication clips to Audrey Hepburn. I am a huge fan of hers and long for the days when your kids could play freely and roam about without fear. These days were full of truly glamorous women and men were men (at least we thought they were). Though Hollywood has always been scorned with scandal and personal lives on display, I believe there is a gross feeling of superiority among stars that is disturbing and tiresome.
I am not a psychologist, but I have a name for spoiled stars that may be slipping into a non-famous mode of life. I call it fame addiction. Just like an addiction to heroin, meth, porn, gambling and the Internet (I have that one) they are addicted to the attention and praise afforded to them for basically doing nothing. So they thrust themselves into the spotlight to achieve even negative attention, because we all know negative is better than none at all. I hate to bring up the names of these pop star turned porn star, child star turned druggie, famous hotel chain heir turned drunk driver turned porn star turned loser chicks, but it is worth mentioning as my case and point is shown in these individuals. You know who I am talking about.
In an industry where liberalism is king and we all must endure the object of their obsession, whether it be gay marriage, global warming, anti-war or anti-censorship in this town of liberal agenda pushers is the most oppressive operation on the planet. No where else will you see women forced to be bone thin, half naked, youth stricken and if they aren't, no gigs. This town of botoxed faces, basketball boobs, balloon lips, hair extensions and the struggle for individuality is manufacturing women who all look alike and deform and starve themselves just to be the next big thing which will inevitably last for a short time. Or they try to mimic the current big thing. There is no place in feminism for this display and oppressive treatment of women. Yet so many Hollywood types profess liberalism and progression like it is second nature. Hollywood has sent women back further than any right to vote or anti-abortion legislation would ever dream of impacting. Feminism and the flaunting of women in America has done more damage to my gender than any oppressive action in the early stages in this country. Women don't know who they are. They are expected to be everything. They are expected to make a lot of money, have a family, keep a perfect house and do it all looking like a skinny model with the sex drive and body of Jenna Jameson or Pamela Anderson. How is this healthy. Young girls looking up to such a messed-up set of women for self-image is scary. And let's not assume parents are all in touch. I have seen mothers obsessed with thin, beauty and perfection and it consumes them to the point of crippling. Is it any wonder women suffer from depression and the pharmaceutical companies are making a killing capitalizing on this public health issue? Yes hypocrisy abounds in Hollywood. This is why I can't stomach very many movies.
Rosie is an exception to the rule in Hollywood though she has gone mad and can no longer be effective in her lame causes.
Hollywood will show strong women in strong and assertive roles occasionally, and there are a few women such as Meryl Streep that keep themselves separated from the crap. However it is the exception not the rule. These cookie-cutter women are in danger of losing their careers constantly and then it is off to koo-koo land for some exposure.
In a nutshell, get a life. There are those of us who are living full and wonderful lives enriched by the people around us. Try a life free from paparazzi and attention, gain 5 pounds when it doesn't matter, keep the face that God gave you. It isn't so bad to just be a movie star to your husband and kids. It is quite fulfilling!!!!!

there are a number of things that contributing to our society's decline. yes, hollywood is certainly one of them. my pet peeve is also the music videos. i'm glad to be almost fully through with having to worry about peer pressure for my kids. of course, the future does not look bright for their kids. but i can't focus on that. it is what it is. life is still beautiful and i'm glad to be in it!

Music videos are porn I agree. Though I have to admit I am a sucker for anything with a good beat. It is a weakness and I often indulge in less than appropriate lyrics through much rationalization.

oh yeah! me too! i can't lie: i love busta, jah rule, method man, ghost face killah, eminem, etc. but i'm from the old school. i like the rappers that are truly poets. great lyrical writers. it's just that the videos suck!

i've explained repeatedly to my daughters that the videos are just a gimmick- don't fall for it. in the mean time, yes, we do enjoy the music. we like all kinds: the fray, maroon 5, rappers, gwen stefani, faith hill... oh i can go on and on. i raised my babies on all kinds of music.

later gator!
