Bill Clinton and Reverend Wright

I watched Greta Van Susteren interview Bill Clinton while he was in Louisiana with actor turned saint Brad Pitt. Bill babbled on about how he and his organization was going to help 50 gazillion people yadda, yadda, yadda and Greta asked him the big question about Reverend Wright. He didn't even address the question. Never even stated an opinion. he looked like a drunk old man that could have been Obama's white uncle. And why is it the Clinton's have not hopped on this fabulous information? Of course they have been letting the elephants take care of the firestorm, but why not make a statement? Oh I see because of this.....
Got it...no need to explain. Funny how Bill aka first black President is tight with the Reverend and now the Rev. is ripping on Hillary for Obama. AND The Obama camp is responsible for the release of this photo. They released it to take the focus off of Obama and on to the Clintons for a while. OK, I'll play. I love this stuff. This is the stuff dreams are made of. It's the slow and steady fire...I just quoted a Carly Simon song because the dems are so fun to fling mud at, and it makes me smile and sing. Thanks for the blog material donkey's! I mean this is just too darn easy.

i saw this on the today show today. the clinton camp say that pres clinton has met literally thousands of people. that is true, and i will give him that. BUT...
the good rev. got a thank you note from the former pres for his support (this happened while the whole monica thing was going on).
mccain is smart to lay low and stay far far away (in the middle east!) while this whole thing storms thru.

Interesting. Is Reverent Wright more or less of a nut job than any of the dozens of religious leaders that the Republicans have been cozying up to for the past 30 years? I'm just trying to get an idea of where he stands in the grand scheme. Was Falwell more crazy than him, or less crazy? Dobson? Robertson? Reed?

thanks Maria!

BA, it is interesting that he invited the entire religious elite to confess his sins to...does that mean better reception to the big guy? :)N

Mike, as far as the craziness scale goes, I think they are all pushing the button pretty hard. Perhaps a national day of ministerial therapy is in order...haha send Oprah, maybe she can get her "people" to comment. hehe :)N

i think bill and barack should do a music video with rev. wright. i'm sure there's some good carly simon or fleetwood mac or earth, wind & fire lyrics that they can cover on a hip-hop-alternative-rock track.

also note how rev. wright hung up his black-liberation kinte cloth sash for a brooks brothers suit...

I am glad this happened. This way I won't feel so guilty (not that I do) when I bag on some religious nut-job on the right for saying something stupid, which is oh so often. Plus Clinton was using them as a big PR stunt, not as his spiritual adviser...a little different, huh? No chance someone like Clinton actually follows a religion for anything other than political currency.

db, you right on with your comment. Of course Obama wasn't thinking there was a difference when he released the pic. naughty little politician has decided to fling some mud. Too bad his "typical" comment made the rounds before this could get many legs. Americans expect this from the Hill/Bill camp, Obama was supposed to be "different" that WAS part of his appeal. I linked you up... :)N
