Ralph Nader Slams Obama

You gotta love this. What is Susan Sarandon gonna say about her man? Ralph, I'm picking out a thermos for you, Nader is sending the new Moses down the river. The article from CNN says,
"Speaking with Colorado's Rocky Mountain News, Nader accused Obama of attempting to both "talk white" and appeal to "white guilt" in his quest to win the White House. "There's only one thing different about Barack Obama when it comes to being a Democratic presidential candidate. He's half African-American," Nader told the paper in comments published Tuesday. "Whether that will make any difference, I don't know. I haven't heard him have a strong crackdown on economic exploitation in the ghettos. Payday loans, predatory lending, asbestos, lead. What's keeping him from doing that? Is it because he wants to talk white? He doesn't want to appear like Jesse Jackson? We'll see all that play out in the next few months and if he gets elected afterwards."
WOW. Did you get a whiff of those sparkling nodes? Poor Ralph, as in puke, is going to get it from the Obamanator and his cronies, who used to be Ralph cronies. Sorry Ralph you have been replaced by a more fashionable you. Bummer. Its tough being green with envy and green in party. Nobody cares what you think until you say something against Obama. And then of course according to Obama, he's a racist. Imagine that, a liberal calling a liberal a racist. I think I may be in heaven.

Ralph Nader?!? Didn't he used to be someone important?!?

he puts his foot in his mouth way too often. he's correct in that consumer advocacy is extremely important, obviously these days, but he says so much dumb shit.

Sandi he became famous on the Phil Donahue show...did he used to be famous? hehe :)N

Johnny, he does say some dumb schnit...I am happy that it is about Obama. Cosumer advocacy is important, I agree with you on that. Wow that is a few times now we have agreed, its getting scary! :)N

Please forgive me if I take a different tack on this one. Was Nader race baiting, looking for some attention as a no-chance candidate, or was he speaking truthfully (albeit, tactlessly)? I have noted that black leaders, such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are quite wealthy and that they seem to have made their money by exploiting black communities. The more black people are convinced that they are victims of white society, the richer black leaders become. It is, in my view, a modern-day equivalent of slavery; it is economic slavery, perpetrated by black leaders who, in my judgment, ought to be in jail.

What is Obama’s role in all this? Isn’t the genesis of his political popularity similar to that of Jackson/Sharpton? Did he not join a black Marxist church in order to develop a political base in South Chicago? Hasn’t Obama introduced the race card, by saying, “watch for it, someone will introduce my race into this campaign?”

No comedian will be a hit with his audience of old people by telling geriatric jokes. Obama knows this, so he will speak to the black community as a black man, and he will address white voters differently. Does this behavior smack of opportunism? Sure; isn’t that what politics is all about? Where Nader went wrong is that he laughingly thinks that dedicated Obamaites even care if a crafty politician is fooling them.

Sorry if this is “too long.”

Mustang, not to long at all feel free to let loose anytime! and all extremely good points. I agree that Nader was speaking the truth contrary to what will be portrayed in the media, even though I took the opportunity to make fun of the weasle, I do think he as well as geraldine ferraro both had points...its hilarious how Obama reacts to these insinuations...with much victimhood. I apologize if I didn't make it clear enough that I don't necessarily disagree with what he said...I should have made that point clearer. I get caught up in the fun making. excellent comment and I agree with all of it. :)N

mustang, you're so right.
Has anybody seen a RESOUNDING encorsement by Jackson or Sharpton or Charlie Rangel for Obama? I could have possibly missed it, but.....

They're not going to like this! How do you keep convincing Americans we're racist if half the country's going for a guy with NO experience, NO particularly redeeming qualities, lots of negatives, but he's Black and they LOVE HIM!? OOPS!!

Michael Steele's the head of the RNC!? Oops!! "even those damned Reps like a Black guy!" (go figure, huh?!) (I wish Steele would run for pres with John Bolton as VP!!!)

hiya, Nikki!! Great post..good comments, too.

Nader's just speaking from the heart....the only difference b/w everyone else and him is that he is VERBALIZING IT ORALLY AND PUBLICLY! So be it. I'm sure a great percentage of Repubs are glad he said it instead of them saying it!! Big frigging deal!! He has some valid points.

Nikki,
Have you been paying attention to the John McCain campaign or are you too busy looking for splitting hairs to blast Obama on?

I am a big time Obama backer and I think McCain's policy ideas would be disastrous for our country, but from a political operative perspective, his campaign is truly awful.

What is his message? What is he running on? What are his slogans other than to steal Obamas? Why is he still using Green background when it makes him look 80? What does he even believe in when has contradict almost every stance he has had to court the far right?

The examples of McCain screw ups or endless but of course the media give him a pass or the benefit of the doubt. The media's interests are too keep it a horse race, no matter what.

Anyway, McCain is a terrible candidate and simply awful on the stump. He has never used the internet and the YouTube age has him completely off guard.

More Tax Cuts for the rich and More Endless War is not what the electorate wants but yet he keeps running on them. It makes absolutely zero sense.

Oh, Here is a reality check.

Mac G, I don't vote on issues I vote strictly on charisma. Interesting that Obama supporters can't fathom support for an old fart, why is that? What John McCain does in his campaign is not going to sway my vote one way or another. Good for you that all of Obama's marketing tactics seem to be working. He is great at the Madonna like advertising to get the young whippper snappers excited about their larger than life candidate. You have been drinking the kool-aid my friend so what else can I say? live long in your false sense of what is and is not reality...and thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! :)N
