Interesting! I've never put much stock in polls - I mean no one has EVER called me. And the online polls are all geared to the readership of that particular site so what the heck. Personally I'd rather see it be a close race so at least there's some excitement.

There's going to be a huge gap after the Democratic lovefest in, August? McCain will only have a couple of months to close it again. Of course, the media will continue trying to convince some Americans that they may as well stay home on Election Day.

Sandi ... no one has ever called me either, and I'm ancient. I think McCain can win if he'd just take my advice:

Dear John:

Please stop putting everyone to sleep when you have town hall meetings or give speeches. Also, you should rely on notes less often than that other nimrod.

Finally, when Nimrod says something really stupid (which is most of the time), attack that bastard.

Sincerely yours,

Not as old as you are

Hey Maria, Gallup is probably the most accurate out there. It is a non-partisan outfit and they do nothing but data, and are very accurate. I am not sure where the faves are...I think my little I know who you are note got to somebody they haven't been lurking. hehe..:)N

Sandi, great point, my husband says that very phrase all the time. How is doing these polls nobody ever asks me...I think Obama is looking in very good shape at the moment. oi. :)N

BA, get some popcorn and watch the show...the Obama show. McCain will get very little air time unless he gets caught with a hooker or something. :)N

Paul I agree McCain better get something going, he is looking dwarfish compared to Obama right now. I actually had a melt down today thinking Romney would have been the man to beat Obama...of course I will probably have to blog about that one. :)N

Mustang, I hope John gets the letter! John needs to quit competeing with Obama with the stump speeches...its not his thing. Let's get debating I this is where McCain will do well. :)N

Gallup is a bit more reliable than the others, including the most unreliable Left Angeles Times/Bloomberg lie, er poll. But, I put the best stock in Rasmussen. He uses LIKELY voters. These other polls use registered voters and that is ALWAYS tilted to the Dems because there are usually more registered Dems. Trust me, Sen. Messiah Barack continues to step in it. Let him do it. Sen. "F--- You" McCain needs to loosen up. Say what is on his mind. I may not like it, but it is what has made him authentic, and he is. And, I believe that the odds are better than 50-50 that Sen. "F--- You" McCain will pick Mitt for Veep.

Righty Rassmusen is a good one...this one seemed to represent a less exaggerated number. I think rassmusen is sporting a similar number...at least within the margin of error...the electorate of course looks a little different, but we all know the united states of california and new york are the big idiots...no offense lefties. :)N

Obama's got the media and he's not got a 30 point lead?

Do you realize how ASTONISHING that is?

Europe's polls today asked who they trusted more..Obama by 10 points.

Of course, Europe's got The NYTimes owned Herald Tribune for the biggest Eng. speaking newspaper...and CNN International (MORE lib than our CNN by FAR) as basically the only Eng speaking outlets for news!..And then the left, which feeds Europe only anti-American hate wonders WHY THEY HATE US? HUh! GO FIGURE!!

Hey Z...great points and wouldn't it be great if the american people had a clue that the media drives the propaganda boat not just here but abroad...its just too much to ask for people to think a little harder. Thanks for the comment! :)N

It's a great cycle to be a political junkie! How exciting for my son, too, a first time voter in November. Of course, he's voting the wrong way, but still.

Polls always seem to favor Dems. I'm not sure why. Is there something wrong with the poll takers, or Dems are just staying home? Perhaps people feel more conservative when they are actually voting than they do when they are being polled? Or is it media bias, just reporting the polls that favor Dems?
Either way, I wish they would get it right, because I think we're going to be hearing the "stolen election" sob story again.

McCain or Obama? They're both owned by the military industrial complex.

Ron Paul was our only hope for change.

Who cares about polls. Mondale was up by 15 in June, Carter was up on Reagan, Kerry was up on Bush, Dukakas was up 30 on Bush I.
