RELIGIOUS SHRINES OF THE OBAMA KIND

When I was 19 years old I went to BYU Jerusalem for a semester abroad in 1987. The trip was approximately 5 months. I have written about this before so bear with me while I do again. While I was there, we as BYU students would go to the Wailing Wall regularly and take photos etc. One time my friend and I stole prayers from the wall and were caught by some Israeli soldiers. The only reason we didn't get arrested was because the soldiers were our age, and we flirted...they were very cute. We actually ended up taking pictures with their guns and hats on. We were lucky...or just young. Thank goodness for professors with enough sense to reel us in when needed, and it was needed A LOT. The point is that, this is a religious, sacred place to many and should be treated with respect. So it comes as no surprise that the Obama camp and its enthusiastic "YOUTH" fans, adorned Obama posters on the police barricade at the Wailing Wall entrance. The only civilians aware of Obama's coming was HIS campaign entourage, and from the looks of the picture, they don't look like locals. Obama is enjoying the adoration I am sure, but let's keep the camp in check. Is this what we have to look forward to with an Obama Presidency? A bunch of numbnuts high on ecstasy? According to Reuters, When the police chief was asked if it was traditional practice for politicians visiting the Western Wall to bring along posters or campaign materials, Rosenfeld replied, "No." And it was an emphatic response.
Nice going Obama supporters. Pull your heads out of your candidates butt long enough to realize that he isn't the arriving Jesus in the Holy Land, but just another politician trying to score the Jewish vote. This is so far over the top I have no words to describe the "audacity" of him and his peeps. This European trip is making me kneel down to worship the porcelain God pretty much regularly (as in throwing-up). I think most Americans can agree that we don't give a damn what the Euros think of us. His "global citizen" rhetoric stirs up a "you kiss your mother with that mouth?" verbiage from my sweet lips. This election is for the citizens of the United States of America...feel free to embrace some of our ideals at any time. He is too busy trying to "change" our ideals into a European faction rather than keeping American traditions and values. France gave us the statue of Liberty, so, we present you with Barack Obama. Take him, he is yours. Make love to each other. This is embarrassing for all Americans. Nice going youth vote...SNAP OUT OF IT! Its time to grow up and vote for John McCain.

Thanks for the personel tale. I think this is disgusting and shows what happens when one forsakes faith in God for faith in a secular messiah. I commented on this and gave you a big HT! Thanks!

I must admit I think we DO need to care what the rest of the world thinks. I'm not saying that everything Obama is doing is right, but an isolationist attitude is not workable in this connected world. And the war we are currently in, plus the terrorist activity we have suffered through, is primarily because other countries hate us. It may sound simplistic, but if we quit pissing people off, we'd all be better off for it.

Sandi, I think that the rest of the world LIKES and admires the United States. Sure, we see all the typical suspects at all the anti-American rallies and the like, but note that in Germany, France and soon Britain, they realize that the left has gone off the deep end and have and will elect conservative or center-right governments. Ireland recently voted against usurping their national sovereignty at the altar of the European Union. So the The Netherlands and even France. What you, and I have to find myself stepping back on occasion, is separate the governments from the people. The people love America. And deep down, they RESPECT President Bush. He does not have to be liked by them. He is the president of the United States.
