OBAMA/BIDEN '08 IS GREAT!

This is a GREAT pick for John McCain. I really thought Obama was smart enough to go with Hillary...nope. Too arrogant? Too insecure? Not sure. But I do know he thinks his #2 is pretty insignificant. Joe is a hired gun to blast a hole into the foreign relations dominating John McCain. Other than that Obama has no use for him. Biden already went to Georgia to show his international expertise and low and behold made nuanced statements demanding US money to help the Georgians rebuild. This is outstanding diplomacy folks. Debonair and nuanced individuals doing absolutely nothing so eloquently. I'm feeling perky. The change agent brings in OLD, not just OLD, but SAME OLD Washington and I love it. This just goes to show that great speech givers are terrible decision makers. Time for republicans to rally. Bummer for the kiddies...its another totally OLD wrinkly dude! Text that minors! WOOHOO! More tomorrow, I am OUT!

This is pathetic! I really thought that Sen. Messiah Barack was going to double-down and pick Gov. Kaine. Remember, this is the same guy who referred to the Chosen One as "articulate, clean, a storybook, man!"

You jokers are totally NOT in touch with reality. McCain is dead man walking. Biden will be an even better "attack dog" than Cheney was and Cheney was damn good.

As for Hillary, picking her was the ONLY way Obama could lose this election.

ed-let me refresh your memory of one of the great quotes from mr biden...
“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” he said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.” this is the guy you want as your vp?! what biden is really saying is 'obama is one of the GOOD balcks.'.
come on! this whole thing got better when they got biden on as vp!
bring it on!

While agreeing with the commenters that Biden is a great pick for Obama because he helps McCain's chances, I'm going to argue it from the opposite shore for a minute.

Biden's positives: So-called foreign affairs experience; many years of experience in the Senate. Old white guy for voters who like old white guys on the ticket.

Biden's negatives: Does not help Obama win a swing state. Does not project the "change" theme that Obama wants to carry him through November. Has the Senator Xerox reputation from his adventures in speech plagiarizing in the late 80s (but am I the only one here old enough to remember this?). Has only the brains, creativity and personality of your average mediocre Senator, in a year when you might like to find a little more when you pick a VP.

Who should Barry have picked? Bayh or Kaine come to mind, for the simple reason that Obama needs states like Virginia and/or Indiana to swing to him if he's going to win. Obama's advisors should be assuming a tight race and planning for it, NOT looking for someone with "experience" to attack John McCain's area of strength.

Too scared to pick Hill.... he'd be having to watch his back the whole 4 years.. or at least having to hire a taste tester.
