THE NOT-SO "DIVERSE" OBAMA ADMINISTRATION

Bush was often touted by conservatives as one of the most diverse administrations in history. In fact it was, but it was never enough for democrats who often claim a sanctimonious monopoly in this societal demand. He had more women, Hispanics and blacks in his administration than any of his predecessors, and yet some were still unsatisfied. I had an argument with a friend once who was complaining about the lack of "Jews" in his government after having failed to recognize his racially diverse administration. Racial diversity was evident so it was on to another exclusionary complaint. Too bad Bush also had a diverse religious representation as well, and even a few atheists amid the posts. The left still whined. So why is it that Obama the most "diverse" President in history does not particularly have a diverse administration? I ask this question because, I hear no outrage. Where are the "diversity" police? Is he exempt because he himself is black so the litmus is not needed? This baffles me. I don't ride the diversity bus. I could care less who is and is not included. That probably sounds like your "typical" conservative but I think the welcoming cries of liberalism are disingenuous and puritanical. They only pretend to be inclusive so they can obtain minority support and when their big cheese forgets to diverse-out his cabinet, they conveniently disappear. Certainly Obama can find other cabinet members of color other than, washed-up white has-been democrats who "forget" to pay their taxes. Cry me a river, the only change that has happened so far is that the government has gotten more white. Put that in your culturally diverse pipe and smoke it democrats. Your magic bus is filled with rich white people whom you despise. So sad that your cultural outreach program is failing miserably in Washington DC. Perhaps a "diversity day" in the nations capitol will change Obama's narrow-minded representation. You know I wouldn't bring this up if you weren't so hypocritical. Exposed, again. This is just way too easy.

nik, you nailed it again.

but hey nik. you know what i was thinking as i read this post. wowee, girl. have you come a long way or what?! in your early days of blogging, race-baiters used to climb all over themselves to call you racist cuz you dared to be a white woman who called a black man on his wrongs or called a supposed-black-friendly-political (dems) party on their hypocrisy. WOO-HOO!! all hail the fearless white female big mouth who refused to be bullied into backing down. you rock nik!

Great post Nikki but you forget, all of the minorities Bush appointed were Uncle Tom or house negroes or race traitors so they didn't count. It's disgusting.

Man, this guy can't do anything right.

Maria, LOL...you crack me up! Yes where are they and why are they not sticking up for themselves. Hmmmmm highly suspect. like you always say...cest la vie (sorry that is probably spelled horribly wrong)hehe :)N

Chuck great point about the uncle toms and sell-outs. It is disgusting. :)N

DB, You are missing the point. Its not Obama that I am calling out its democrats and their hypocrisy. :)N

Hence the irony of my comment.

The only thing you missed is the apostrophe: C'est la vie. Alors je peux dire que tu ecris très bien français.

Great rant, Nikki - I've always said that diversity doesn't mean crap to the left when they're at the controls. Mind you, I hadn't thought much about the issue since Obama took office because his nominees' tax problems have been highly entertaining on their own.

But y'know: even though I think Daschle and Geithner are full of crap, I am sympathetic to the argument that the tax code itself is a mess and creates far too many scenarios where a mistake could be made.

Nikki said...

Thanks Clay...:)N

Nikki said...

El Cerdo, thanks for the clarification and I can't believe I was even that close! The tax code is messed up for sure and these tax evading government officials should know better. great comment! The left really doesn't care when they are at the controls...:)N

SO you're noticing that the Obama Admin. is not as diverse as the Bush Admin. Well, okay, but your argument here is only valid if it is true that Bush only hired minorities because of pressure to be diverse, not because more minorities just happened to best fulfill whatever GWB's standards were. Also, are suggesting that BO purposfully chose to hire more whites (and you have a problem with this?) for whatever spiteful reasons instead of beliveing that he's hiring the best people based on his standards and more just happen to be white. What are you for affirmitive action after you were against it? I don't agree with the assumptions, in fact is sounds a little presumtpious, and crybabyish, kind of like your official seal of the dem. party.

Nikki said...

Mikez, Like I said...I don't care who is chosen or included. Stating the obvious is fine and I appreciate you mentioning that the best person should be chosen, but the point IS that the diversity aka known as liberals, police never thought so...until now. I am only pointing out a hypocritical ideology. Barack Obama is doing a fine job and only qualified people should be chosen, that is what I believe and you do NOW but probably did not in the past. Get it? :)N

Okay thanks for choosing the rational side to this. I'm still not sure how this shows liberal hypcrisy. I understand that there are liberal wolves in sheeps clothing taking advantage of race instead of trying to end racism, I've always seen that. That's not reflection of liberalism as a whole, or liberals as a whole. There are snakes on all sides. You are also missing out on another point, liberals have always supported affermitive action as a temporary initiative meant to balance the scales. Perhaps, the evil liberal base is ready to get past AA just as the right has been ready since it started. My point is to ease up on brash generalizations based on assumptions. I hate that we need to experiment with programs like AA in order to show that country is trying to fix problems caused by past actions that you and I had nothing to do with. I hate it, but also see the rational and no that it took a long time to dig the racist trenches and it's taken a long time to fill those trenches, and thankfully the ground is somewhat level now. Also, the best way to exterminate racist wolves on both sides is for us that are past race issues say so in one voice, from both sides of the political spectrum.

Mikez, the hypocrisy is in the left deciding to chastise Bush for everything under the sun and is silent when their guy doesn't follow their own admonitions. I think AA has run its course, but I also think that Obama is placating a little BFF appointing as well. You make some great points. Thanks for commenting and reading the blog. Opposing views are welcome! :)N

Trust me, there were plenty of times that I thought "my side" was just being petty in alot of the ways they blamed Bush for EVERYTHING. He couldn't do anything right in a lot of folks eyes. And it's more unfortunate that they crossed a line somewhere back in '03 or late '02 in which they could no longer look at anything Bush did objectionally. Learn from "mistakes" even if some of us can't get over the Bush Admin.
Side note- a good friend of mine, who is a big fan of yours, suggested this site for me and I have to say I like the way you debate. I hope you continue to entertain my comments and engage in healthy debate. I often find through good, healthy, respectable debate, there's far more we have in common than we presummed.

mikez, tell your friend thanks for pointing you in my direction and I smiled when you said "fan" of mine...how cool it would be to have a fan base lol! I love to debate with intelligent people on all sides and I agree we usually agree on much more than we realize in the end! I admire all passionate people. Come back often...and remember the snark will never go towards a reader, only in the post. Thanks again for stopping by! :)N

The diversity is in tax cheats! They are men and women and minority groups. Timothy Geithner, Tom Daschle, and now congresswoman Hilda Solis. Yes, Change that I can believe in!

No Jews? What about that fat clown Larry Summers?

The guy helps craft the bubble economy under Clinton, goes to Harvard to stand around at cocktail parties convincing people to give money to the endowment, gets bored and comes back to help screw things up again.

Ducky, huh?

Obama is probably getting a "pass" because he's black. Personally, I think the best people should be put in the cabinet (as well as in management of corporations, boards of directors, etc.) regardless of race, religion, or anything else. Qualifications should be the rule - period.

Obama is a Pied Piper! So many people are being blindly led by his charisma that they do not really hear what he is saying or see what he is doing. Don't get me wrong-if person really understands and believe in what Obama is saying and doing then that is the person's right. However, I don't see that. I see a Pied Piper leading people with his "pretty music".

Nikki..great post!
Obama's afraid of appointing qualified minorities because it'll look like he's only picking HIS people.
What we need, AGAIN, is a president of ALL us people, not one who insults conservative talk radio individuals by name, not one who refuses to believe that WE CAN THINK without RUSH LIMBAUGH.

grrrr!!! Keep up the rants, cutie..you DO rock...Maria's right!
