HATE CRIME LEGISLATION IS NOTHING BUT FLUFF

Eric Holder our fearless Attorney General is urging stricter hate crime legislation. How fascinating. Can't wait for this legislative joke.
Crimes come in varying degrees. Some are horrific, some are funny, some are dumb, some are passion induced, some are about greed, some are drug related and all are about hate. I am against all crimes no matter what the reason. If crimes are motivated by hate, I fail to see how that makes a difference when punishing a perp. There is no doubt that crimes are labeled according to their circumstance, intent and level of seriousness. But aren't all crimes to some degree never about the abstract and almost always about hate? Whether the mailman goes postal or your neighborhood pervert rapes a bunch of women, aren't all crimes heinous and hateful? I don't mean to be coy about a serious subject, but why does the left want? Stricter and harsher punishments for perpetrators of crimes based on hate? They would never be as harsh as a conservative who would kill the son of a bitch. Capital Punishment will punish murderers harsher than you ever will you leftist hate crime criers, so why act like you hate "hate" worse than the rest of us? This legislation is nothing but fluff and feel good bullshit. It does nothing but make the left feel warm inside to say "We want harsher punishments" without inflicting anything harsh AT ALL. Remember the black guy in Texas that was drug to death while tied to the back of a truck? George W. Bush was the governor of Texas at the time and was ridiculed because he was against hate crime legislation. The perpetrator in this heinous crime was given the death penalty. What is it a hate crime bill would have done in this situation? He would have received a lethal injection twice? Or would have been injected with more disgust? Probably NO, because those who are in favor of any sort of hate crime legislation usually don't support the death penalty. So stop acting so tough and indignant demtards, you are pussies when it comes to crime.
This is more window dressing from the worthless left. America doesn't tolerate hate. Great, but don't kill their sorry asses when they kill someone for hate...just tell them they are strenuously sent to jail for 20 to life. Yep, nice going libtards. That makes a lot of sense. Hate crimes legislation is just another attempt by the left to call people bigots, homophobes, racist and intolerant for not supporting such a worthless concept. Its more air time for lefties to shake their heads and claim a monopoly on tolerance once again. Its not a deterrent. Most criminals could care less about it. If a person hates you and kills you or beats your sorry ass, the media will report it, Hollywood will make a movie and the criminal will be famous. So NO, criminals don't care if the law says don't kill or mame for hate or your punishment will be great. This self-righteous indignation about crimes against particular groups of people is ridiculous. Can we not call this victim discrimination? What about "equality" demotards? This does not even the playing field, it pushes many to the front of a long line of, I am more of a victim than you. If you are a minority and someone targets you because of this, then we will punish them harsher than if you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time...WTF is that all about? If I am killed by some punk for no reason other than he wanted my purse and the money in it, then that crime is not as serious as a crime committed against me for another reason such as hating Mormons or women? Am I understanding this correctly? Am I not dead either way? Is this not horrific either way? If liberals ruled America we would have a country of scared pussies who give lip service to evil and criminal activity anyway, so stop acting like this is a ideological stronghold. OOPS, we are ruled by a bunch of mother liberals. It's freakin' gay. The premise behind the lip service is shallow and empty. Any sort of legislation would be nothing but societal outrage in the form of words of consciousness, in other words...air. A paper tiger. A balloon. More fake caring from the left. Seriously, I hate democrats...what if I accidentally run over one with my car? I would get my wrist slapped 4 times instead of 1? Like democrats know anything about harsh punishments. They would give a dog abuser more time in the pen than a child molester. No thanks on your pretty packaged marshmallow legislation. As soon as you start acting like terrorists are terrorists who HATE us ALL, then I will listen to your impotent outrage. Stopping crime with your fluffy kitty with the big eyes approach is proof that you are hypocritical at best. How about understanding the hate before you legislate, the same philosophy used to deal with rogue governments who perpetrate hate crimes on a daily basis against their own people. Maybe then I will listen to your caring about hate...until then, shut the hell up.

I am dead set against any hate crime legislation, it is the classic example of Orwellian thought crimes. I think the ultimate irony is that liberals have worked for decades to undermine the laws and punishement for breaking those laws that already punish people for the very offenses that hate crimes laws address. We need to prosecute people for committing violent crimes and not worry about why they did it. Don't put someone in prison longer for killing a gay man, put them in prison longer for killing anybody.

Unfortunately, Nikki, it's no paper tiger. It is a foot in the door to punish free speech and political opinion. Have you noticed how often conservatives are derided for "hate speech" when they criticize Obama? Hate crimes legislation could easily be abused to prosecute people for fake hate speech, not just the real stuff.

It's not about caring, although liberals generally think they have a monopoly on caring. It's about legislating their way to a liberal state, where political incorrectness is punished in the criminal court system. I acknowledge that this probably is not what liberals have in mind when they support hate crimes legislation, but it is inevitably where it leads.

Watch out.

I've never quite understood how a "hate" crime is worse than any other crime. I would rather see effort put towards stiffer sentences for all murderers, rapists, child abusers, etc. Regardless of their motives. And don't even get me started on "they had a rough childhood" defenses. Those and insanity defenses need to be eliminated. Better use of time and effort.

Hate crime laws are a way of killing free speech. We cannot say things, without perhaps going to jail or being banned from society. Just in case you care to think about what you are no longer free to say. You are not free to use the "N" word, in any context. If a group of women dress poorly, don't comb their hair, etc. you are not free to call them "nappy headed hoes"
Even though "hoe" in their inner circle is a complement. (see don Imus, he got fired for this) You are not allowed to say you oppose gay marriage, see miss california got fired for this. You are not allowed to say that many illegal mexican immigrants come from primitive villages. (Jay Severn got fired for this.) You are not allowed to say "I am sick and tired of muslims, the terrorist variety." Michael Savage was banned from britain for this. You are not allowed to say that Asians do the best at school, then whites, then hispanics then blacks. You are not allowed to say Blacks are more creative and cool than whites. Almost anything to do with religion, race, or sex. We are not allowed to talk about. These are "hot zones" which will get you fired or boycotted. Where is our free speech. ANd if you commit a crime and happen to say any of these things while you are committing the crime then expect your sentence to be doubled by the judge for "hate crime speech"

El Cerdo Ignatius's point is what scares me the most about hate crime legislation. This becomes a tool to identify one's expressed thoughts as criminal. Priests and Preachers, protestors and teachers had better beware.

what really gets under my skin about these touchy-feely laws from the left is the amount of ppl that fall for it. stupid stupid stupid.

a crime is a crime.

sneaky liberals with their double-talk language. can't trust them as far as you can throw them.

Right, Namaste. A crime is a crime. If somebody intimidates, attacks or kills somebody else we can be reasonably sure that it wasn't a love crime.

Hate crimes legislation is nothing more than one of those “feel good” laws, designed to make you “feel good” about the legislator supporting it. If someone is willing to commit a crime and break existing laws, does adding extra time for “hate” really make a difference? Hate crime legislation is as stupid as conceal weapons laws. How on earth can on tell if someone is breaking a conceal weapon law if the weapon is concealed? Duh!
