EXCELLENT video, nik!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for finding and posting this. i find it SOOO frustrating when people like gates does things like this and get away with it. and i don't understand why some of the f**ckin morons in the blog world fall for obvious bullshit. but this video tells the truth. you can see how hurt his colleagues are that it has come to this. thanks again, hon!

It seems like Obama is losing votes everywhere.

Maria, it didn't occur to me that the families of these police officers will also consider NOT voting for Obama, I think you are absolutely right! WOOHOO!! :)N

OMG, you guys are so pathetic to think a STUPID incident like this will destroy Obama LOLOL!! Haven't you seen the police report?? You better check it out before you kiss Obama good by. PLUS, something so trivial will never do what you think it will do, this is laughable!!

Nikki said...

Sue, what is STUPID is thinking that this will NOT affect Obama. Did you know that President Obama and President Bush have the same approval rating right now? Please get real or stop calling serious situations stupid. Anyone who knows a cop or has one in their family knows this is NO stupid situation. You don't send cops out in harms way to have the President call them stupid. Cops have a hard enough job without the President lending creedence to many minority criminals who cry foul every time a cop pulls them over. And have I seen the police report?...its only posted on my blog. I suspect you won't be laughing for long.

I watched "Sophie's Choice" for the first time last weekend. Great movie, kept my attention and all! My nephew is having his bd party next weekend and it's gonna be fun...pinata and all....Started work again this week after having 5weeks off. One of my best friends is having surgery to remove a malignant tumor that is resting underneath her heart. She's my age. One day, there might be a cure for Multiple Sclerosis and my mom might be alive to experience it. My brother survived a grim cancer prognosis and he's living testimony that a 3 chemical chemotherapy can knock out any malignancy. My brother-in-law recently had a tumor entertwined between optic nerve and brain. Removed successfully!!! It was an 8 hour surgery! My son is now a sophomore in college! That excites me!!

Oh, Obama might lose the "police officer" votes in 2012? Pffftttt...

Gods Blessings to you Patti and your friends and family ((Hugs)). God is already blessing them and also this country for giving us our wonderful President Obama! God is Good!!! xo
Nikki I saw a program showing and talking about the police report, it was false arrest. case closed

Sue, a TV show huh? Called what? I would like to search for that on YOUTUBE and share it. I mean that would surely hold up in a court of law. Your honor, the evidence is a TV show said it was a false arrest, so it is. Yep, TV is always your best defense cuz TV never lies.

Sue, what? A false arrest? You know this because "a program" said so?

It is possible that the arrest was not justified, but that's only with the benefit of hindsight. If the police report and the accounts of the witnesses are accurate, it sounds like the arrest was reasonable. It's probably also reasonable, though, that the charges were dropped - taking a case to court requires a higher standard of proof than at the scene of an arrest.

Your terminology suggests that every arrest that does not lead to prosecution is a false arrest. That's simply untrue.

As for your apparent belief that the problem Obama has is the arrest itself, that's also untrue. The problem is that Obama shot off his mouth, calling the police "stupid", without having the first clue as to what the circumstances were. I don't necessarily fault him for it, as we've all done things like that before, and Henry Gates is a friend of Obama's, and therefore is likely to support him. The real problem was the president's fake apology, using stupid, empty language like "calibrated my words", and "teachable moment".

It was a teachable moment, all right, but not for the reasons Gates and Obama think. The lessons here are:

- If you look like you're breaking into your own house and the cops arrive, show some ID. The cops will explain why they came and will excuse themselves for having bothered you. And then they'll leave, and the whole thing will be over in five minutes.

- If you act like an out-of-control, classless jackass to a cop who is responding to a call, and you are in a place where you can be seen and heard by passersby, be prepared to be arrested.

- If you are asked about your friend's arrest, and you are the president, the right thing to say is, "Professor Gates is my friend, and I'm inclined to believe what he says. But I wasn't there and I don't know what happened, so I'm going to refrain from comment."

- If you, as the president, screw up and insult the nation's law enforcement officers by announcing that you think the police acted stupidly, even though you have no evidence for this, all you need to do is say, "I apologize to Officer Crowley, the Cambridge Police Department and to all the police officers of this nation. I said something that was entirely untrue without having the facts in front of me. I promise I will do better in the future." And then, for Barack Obama, it's case closed. He looks like a reasonable, classy guy, and no one is going to drag out the story.

And "It's Me," thanks for the timely reminder that there are much more important things in life than silly old politics. May God bless you and your family and friends.

instead of listenig to Fox news who is calling Obama a racist, you can get the TRUTH from MSNBC. Now I know you will laugh about that but too friggin bad. I know the truth and thats all that matters to me and the part of the country that listens to sane people.

Nikki said...

Sue I rarely watch FOX and please don't make yourself into a liar by proclaiming that MSNBC is TRUTH and all other news outlets are false, that is just "stupid". Fox news didn't call Obama a racist, Glenn Beck did, that is his opinion. Just like Kieth Olbermann doesn't report news he gives his opinion and commentary. You don't know the truth, you only know what you want to be true. I looked it all up on MSNBC couldn't find a report about false arrests. Seriously, you lose so much credibility siting a cable TV news source as TRUTH. All cable news channels are dumbed-down news for people like you who think you are informed because you watch a news channel. Don't embarrass yourself any further. Have you ever heard me site FOX as a source? Get real. You and your sane part of the nation have a nice time while the rest of us prefer differing sources before we make up our minds.

Nikki said...

And trust me, you aren't going to die if Obama is less than perfect.

when I watch news, whether it be network or cable, I'm not gullible and believe everything reported. In fact just the opposite. So if I see the person being reported about speaking on his own behalf, his own words, then whats better than that. When a document is shown, whether it be Obamas birth certificate, or a police report, then I guess it should be believable right? Yes I do watch alot of MSNBC, and even Keith backs up his segments with proof from the persons own mouth. Can I say the same for Fox? NO. If they put on another point of view different from theirs, the person can't get a word in because they are interrupted and belittled by the host. I see it happen all the time. You will probably say you don't see conservatives on Keiths show, well thats because they can't get away with their lies on his show so they decline the invitation.

Only news I watch anymore is Jon Stewart! At least that makes me laugh.....

Nikki said...

Sandi, Jon Stewart is funny, and at least there is some truth to his sarcasm! :)N

Sue, whatever speech you need to give yourself, to convince yourself that you are right and all else are wrong is not needed. thanks anyway!

Sue, is it not hypocritical for you to say that this has been a trivial event?

why did the po po retract..
i mean, they showed muscle by handcuffing him and taking him in....then all charges were dropped? fill me in, if i'm mistaken, please. this news is so "past tense" it isn't even funny! it's next to the headlines of the Globe magazine, "Michael Jackson Seen Living in a Tent Next to the Unibomber's Former Log Cabin." pffffffffttttttttt....

Mike T. said...

Its me, the po po didnt retract. Sgt. Crowley arrested Mr. Gates based upon his reasonable suspicion a crime was commited (disorderly conduct. This charge is then screened with the DA. THe DA decides wether or not to prosecute. There several factors involved in this decision...politics, cost, is justice served...like that. Obviously in this instance the DA decided it was not worth persuing. This was not false arrest. The only reason we even care is the President opened his yipper. Disorderly conduct arrests happen every day allo ver the country...to all different races. And no one cares...until it Barry O's friend...interesting.
