CASH FOR CLUNKERS= ENVIRONMENTAL MOTHER FLUNKERS

WHODACLUNKIT? How many democrats does it take to kill our mother earth? Just one idiot, the rest will follow no questions asked. Remember that guy Al Gore who is making gazillions freaking us all out that the earth is gonna burn us all to death in a manner of months if we don't give up our SUV's? Remember those democrats that cry on the side of the road like the Indian in that 70's commercial about littering, when big trucks pass them by? Think back to the days of polar bears dying because someone drank from a plastic water bottle. Green is the thing and what to my wandering eyes do appear? Giant heaps of clunkers, the ones we love so dear. Heading for our landfills by the environmentally austere. They cried, they weeped for the earth's ozone seep. But now it's ok to create a large metal heap. But the rest of us are nothing but creeps, when we drive around in our Jeeps. Such hypocrites these democrats, their ideas are so steep. But don't say anything, don't say a peep. Cuz if we do we are big fat racists! Nice going brain surgeon dem's. Your ideas suck and you are killing our earth. What a legacy.

well that doesn't look environmentally friendly at all!

nice find and good post, nik!

i just read a post on empty-suit's blog saying that obama has taken credit for cash for clunkers and his administration hasn't repaid ANY of the car dealerships yet.

i just noticed the title of this post. LOL!! you're a nut!

;)

oh Nikki, how ridiculous is this rant! First off, the clunker metal will be recycled so in return jobs will be created. Second, this clunker stimulus has resulted in 700,000 cars and trucks being sold so in return there is a ripple effect of JOBS happening all over the country! Imagine that, Obamas clunker program is doing fabulously! The Gov of Michigan and the head honcho from United Autoworkers were on TV today praising this program of Obamas. So see Nik, good things are starting to happen, you just have to pay closer attention.

Maria you and your comments never cease to amaze me! Empty-suit is not very good at listening to the news now is he. Good God people you sound so stupid when you make these accusations without merit! Duh

Sue - Not that you need any sort of research, knowledge or info before charging down accusation road, but this is right out of the August 2009 EcoTrends macroeconomics update (starting on page 34 - Light Vehicle Production) "INDICATIONS - We think the 'Cash for Clunkers' program, while raved a success in Washington, will do little to affect long-term Light Vehicle Production. It is our understanding that government discounts for new cars will merely push hesitant buyers forward, leaving long-term demand unchanged, all at a huge expense for taxpayers. FORECAST NOTE: Expect annual unit Production to fall an additional 28.3% to 31.9% in the second half of 2009. 2010 will post a milder decline in the first half of the year followed by recovery in the second half... Manage inventory levels carefully. A short-term rise in sales does not mean a permanently elevated turnover rate. Subsidies have a tendency to create a backlash decline in sales by pulling sales forward."
Sue - before you completely disregard this info and throw it out as 'right-wing conspiracy' babble, you should know that there are many, many things within this report that show signs of improvement and would serve as nice, positive talking points for dems and this administration. But unfortunately "clunkers" is not it. Bad idea. Hastily planned. Poorly executed. Pick a different battle.

Sue, if the program is so awesome and is creating so many jobs, why end it on MONDAY? And not that I am not talking to a freaking wall, but who has been paid again?? And does 9 trillion dollar deficit sound familiar? Do you know what that does to the value of the dollar? Probably not, you are a corporate bashing dem who wants businesses to hire you, pay your health insurance, wipe your ass and cook your dinner.

you are so wrong about me Nik, but who cares right?

You are framing the C4C progam as stimulus $$ Train-wreck. I see it more as a stimulus $$ chain-reaction. Dealers move metal from their lots (more sales), Old cars are moved into recycling and strip-down yards (more employees). Computer data info people are hired to sort through the gov’t red-tape... And the trump card is that consumers (car-buyers) have more confidence as they drive around in their new cars looking for jobs at the scrap yard =D
At least lawmakers knew when to say, “stop, enough already”.

Great call. Like Gore himself, the Dems behind this idea talk green while the ultimate result is simply lining their pockets with green.

Susana, I am not sure what you are saying is true. A more viable argument would be that of clunkers being re-sold to lower income families. Could this be considered discrimination as these gas guzzlers are now in the hands of families who can only buy cheaper used cars? I did research on recycling old cars. While it is true that car parts are indeed recycled, there is much that is not and ends up in landfills. It sounds like to me that democrats do like the trickle down method of economics and are planning on the Reagan argument to justify this program. The CFC program is short lived, and any job increase will therefore be also. Nice try. :)N

My friends and I all drove beaters when we were young. It was all we could afford. No matter what shape any of those cars were in, if they still ran, there is someone, somewhere out there that could've used it to get to work, or school. So much for helping out the downtrodden. I saw the other day where some assclown retard turned in a Corvette. WTF? As an owner of a vintage '66 Mustang, I know for a fact that idiot could've gotten more than $4500 for it had he sold it to an enthusiast who would've restored it. Democraps and libtards never think any further than their nose. Sue, let me dumb it down for you; would you pay $4500 for a car and then throw it away? Because that's what the government has done and it used your money to do it. Those cars get crushed. How is that recycling? Many people get parts for their cars from salvage yards, but none of these parts can ever be used. The government has never, ever created a program that has worked. Because they are not business people, they are bureaucrats. The government needs to leave the business to the businessmen.

Brilliant Plan, Skirki, leave it to the repubtard business men...like Kenneth Lay and Bernie Madoff..Or maybe you are more comfortable with the CEO-tards of the failed Bush-tard era. Blame the dems, but no one forced the unregulated aUto and banking industries who supported and lobbied for the Repulican bailout plan to eat up gov't handouts like the slobbering pigs they are...Yes, Government needs to totally leave the business world to the business world-tards. That seemed to work out well for everyone. Wow, now I am getting nostalgic for the good old days of $5 gal gas.

skiriki, thanks for reading the blog! I am happy to have another person with a sense of humor joining the daily grind...great comment. Let's not pretend the government is successful at business. :)N

susana, drawing on the bad behavior of a few does not prove your point. Please don't complain about the people who pay your salary as a teacher. The top 20% of Americans carry 70% of the tax burden. Corporations while not perfect by any means, employ many people. That is just the facts. To claim that the economic system in America would be better if the government controlled the wealth is extremely retarded. There would be NO wealth. Regulation is a fine idea, but if you want to bring up retards dipping their hands in business practices, let's talk about Barney Frank and the boys. Your mass definition of republican evilness shows a lack of knowledge and complete ignorance. But thanks for using the tard example it worked great!! :)N

susana, I forgot to tell you what a gastard you are...do you really think gas was 5$ a gallon because of the government? Are you one of those people who really do think the government has KING capabilities? Good, because I will treat Obama with the same all encompassing expectations. Gas went down before Obama even took office and its the highest its been in a year right now. What is your point? Oh yea never mind, I overlooked the Haliburton talking point. My bad. Just remember when GE and these other health care lobbyists having sex with Tom Daschle and NBC get even richer when daddy Barack bucks gives them the health care gig. I will be up your butt. Not literally. :)N

Amazing how the few corrupt businesses give a bad name to all the ones who do business responsibly. The government was directly responsible for those few like Enron because they refuse to stay out of their business, by invoking rules and regulations that leave loopholes for these greedy assholes to do what they did. But, not every business is corrupt. Pull your head out of your ass and go outside once in awhile and experience the real world instead of living in your little academic bubble. We have never experienced a truly free market. If you really wanted to see what a truly free market is, you need look no further than the black market. And that's all this admin is doing is pushing us to use the black market because they are suffocating the legit markets. Your savior's administration forced the auto companies to take the bailout. If they would have never OFFERED a bailout Chrylser would have failed, like it should have. They should never have been bailed out the first time all those years ago. It set a bad precedent. Your idol could've said no to all the other bailouts, but he didn't because it was his plan all along to nationalize the auto and banking industries. If the government would've stayed out of it, they all would've gone down, but now all they did was put a bandaid on a gaping wound and prolong the inevitable. Chrysler going under would not have caved the economy. They would've gone bankrupt and closed and another fledging car company would've taken over. But, now, nothing will happen. They will produce cars that no one wants and aren't worth the money that they will want for them. ANd they will have to charge exorbitant prices for these cars because of all the union workers. Which another rant for another time. Same with the banking industry; it was the dems idea that EVERYBODY was ENTITLED to a house. They forced the banks into loaning money to risky people amid accusations of racism and discrimination. I'm not the only one who predicted this depression. I saw it coming 10 years ago and so did others, but true to form the dems ignored those forecasts because all they wanted was votes and the way to get votes was to give the poor loans they couldn't pay back (because they are poor for Christ's sake). Owning a home is not a right. It's a responsibility. If you work hard, you can buy one. If you don't work, you live in government subsidized housing. If the government is so goddamned great, why are people trying to get out of the projects so badly? And you wanna really bring up slobbering pigs? You really wanna get into that? How about the slobbering pigs in CONGress that even tho we are in a recession and most companies are cutting back by not giving raises and bonuses, our elite government officials will continue to live high on the hog. On the public coffers. You really are stupid if you can't see the forest for the fucking trees. Stop blaming Bush for EVERYTHING for cryin' out loud. He's been gone for 9 months and things are not getting any better and that's because your boy is in over his head. No business experience, no leadership experience, what do you expect? $5 for a galloon of gas? What planet are you from? In Cali maybe, but only for awhile. Hope y'all like yer hope and change, there.
